On March 9th, 2019, Expedition Management Consulting’s visitor friendly assessment team attended the 26th annual Ice Fishing Live Release Tournament in Joussard. Our team received a warm welcome to the well-run event and we had a fantastic time learning about ice fishing from local experts. We enjoyed clear skies and warm weather during our visit and we were treated to a delicious dinner at the community hall. Although we didn’t catch any fish, we were lucky enough to see a spectacular star display once the sun went down that night. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the region and we are already planning a return trip. Well done Big Lakes County!
More About the Project
Through the Visitor Friendly Assessment and Action Plan project, Big Lakes County’s visitor friendliness is being assessed during both the summer and winter seasons. The key findings from the assessments are then used to develop actionable recommendations to improve visitor friendliness, with the ultimate goal to increase visitation to the region. There is great potential to grow the tourism industry in Big Lakes County and the Visitor Friendly Assessment and Action Plan is an important early step.
The final report is scheduled for completion in the Spring of 2019.
