Our team worked with the City of West Kelowna to develop a needs assessment for recreation programming and facilities over the next twenty years. The process strongly engaged local and regional stakeholders through innovative engagement techniques. Detailed research and analysis was also completed to identify current gaps in service as well as future needs.
The engagement process collected high-quality input and was one of the strongest responses the community had ever had to a planning project.
A comprehensive needs assessment was completed that described the need for indoor recreation facilities and indoor/outdoor programs. The needs were prioritized using multiple supporting indicators, such as community engagement, current facility demand, projected facility demand, comparator benchmarks, growth projections and trends.
